27 Million

I truly am blessed to live in freedom, but that is not the case for so many. More than ever before, people are treated like property and seen only in terms of money. Today, more than 27 million stories are in need of a new chapter; more than 27 million people are in slavery.

Abraham Lincoln did a lot, but he did not end slavery in America much less worldwide. Slavery didn't end in America in 1865 and still continues today. When people are not taught their worth and treated with value, many begin to  think they are actually not of anything. This is exactly the mindset some people invite and induce.

Slavery today isn't any less brutal than it was back before 1865. Human trafficking is today's slavery and has many forms, but the beast is still hideous on all fronts. In short, the sex slave trade is most prominent and children are not exempt. Slavery still exists, but feel encouraged because freedom can be found in Christ and in Him we have purpose and power to cause some change.

The problem still exists, but we can be aware and passionate; we can make raising awareness a priority.

Praying for freedom,
Daniel Patrick
